FINAL ASSIGNMENT: A Digital Triptych

Project Brief

We were asked to choose one of five Frank Sinatra songs given to us. From which we were supposed to choose a moment, create a storyline, illustrate and animate it. I chose "Come fly with me".

Storyline

It's a romantic song about a man asking his loved one to come to fly with him. He wants to take her to bar in Bombay and in Llama land in Peru. He says that once they get up there they will glide with the air as weather-wise it's a really lovely day.

And he'll toot his flute for you

Concept

My idea was to create 3 different views. In the first one, the man is in the air balloon holding his hand out and asking the girl to come with him. In the second part, they fly over the Llama-land. And finally, they float down to see the one-man band playing his guitar and flute.

I did some sketches of my idea and showed them to Mr. Hafiz which he approved. Below are the sketches.

Final Design
These are my final illustrations. In the 3rd scene, I had an orange tint showing the sunset, I also changed the shadows accordingly.

Animation
I used after effects to animate the individual illustrations and combined them in adobe premiere pro.
